Jenny and Randy are about the nicest couple you could ever hope to meet. Getting to photograph local’s weddings is always a great treat for me. They had a small wedding with close friends all within walking distance of their home at the Barney Ford Museum, followed by dinner at the Hearthstone Restaurant. Continue reading

It’s been a little while since I did one of these anatomy posts, so I wanted to start back up with a pretty abstract image. I was photographing the couple posing on the banks of the Eagle River in Beaver Creek, Colorado. I was getting some nice full body shots of the couple and their reflection in the river, but I wanted to try something a little more abstract. I found a place where the water was still enough to try to get a clear reflection, but still had enough movement to allow some motion blur of the aspen leaves swirling in an eddy.

Chad and Michelle are huge cyclists, so they decided to have a bike themed fall wedding in Beaver Creek. The day was a great reflection of their personalities. I had the chance to go mountain biking with Chad and his friends in the morning before the ceremony, which was a great way to start the day. Afterwards I met Michelle at Spa Anjali for hair and makeup. They did most of the decorations and setup the photo book themselves. One of the highlights was when they did their grand entrance on a bicycle weaving in and out of the tables.
Although my primary focus is on wedding photography, I photograph a lot of other things as well. This year took me all over to photograph things like a red carpet event for my friend, MJ Dougherty’s, new book, Life Lessons of a Total Failure, in Los Angeles. It also took me to Mexico to photograph a resort. I did a lot of family photos this year as well as photographed several events in Breckenridge like the Breckenridge Film Festival, and the Moth Radio Hour, a nationally syndicated story telling program. There were also the usual mountain bike races and white water trips to photograph as well.

Mary and Sebastian are so much fun. Sebastian is a huge David Bowie fan and asked Mary to an outdoor Screening of Labrynth with a David Bowie cover band on their first date. Exactly two years to the day later Sebastian asked Mary to marry him at the Denver Botanical Gardens.
Lionscrest is a beautiful and elegant venue, and the couple clearly put a lot of thought into making guests feel welcome and comfortable with a family style meal of steak and salmon. After the wedding, they were off to honeymoon in Europe visiting Croatia, Montenego, Solvenia and Italy.
