Other Photos from this Summer and Fall

Although my primary focus is on wedding photography, I photograph a lot of other things as well. This year took me all over to photograph things like a red carpet event for my friend, MJ Dougherty’s, new book, Life Lessons of a Total Failure, in Los Angeles. It also took me to Mexico to photograph a resort. I did a lot of family photos this year as well as photographed several events in Breckenridge like the Breckenridge Film Festival, and the Moth Radio Hour, a nationally syndicated story telling program. There were also the usual mountain bike races and white water trips to photograph as well.

Review Timothy Faust Photography and Support Charity

As you probably know, nothing is as powerful as word of mouth for the success of any business. Today the primary means of that is through social media and leaving an online review, but a challenge photographers like myself face is getting people to take the time to leave a review for is. Most reputable review sites do not allow businesses to compensate clients for leaving a review, but after talking with my doctor, Louis Perrinjaquet, we came up with an idea to help make it worth you while.

If you are a past client for weddings or portraits, even if all you did was order a few prints or download some digital images from a family member’s wedding, and take a few minutes to leave me a review, it will be greatly appreciated. Since I can’t compensate people for reviewing me, what I will do instead is to make a donation to, Doctors to the World, the charity group that my doctor works with providing medical services in developing countries.

For every review on Weddingwire or theKnot Timothy Faust Photography receives between the beginning of the year and July 1st, 2016, I will donate $20 to Doctors to the World. If you don’t have the time to write a full review, like my Facebook page or Instagram, and for each new follower I get, I will donate 25 cents, so tell your friends.

So there is complete transparency, here is where the numbers are right now:

Facebook: 1,455 fans
Instagram: 1,700 followers
Weddingwire: 11 reviews
theKnot: 7 reviews

Chris and Angie’s Breckenridge Ski Wedding

Location: Breckenridge Ski Area

Venue: Mountain Thunder Lodge

Chris and Angie had a really fun idea for a wedding: ski down from the top of Breckenridge Ski Area together to their ceremony at Mountain Thunder Lodge. Finding a photographer who was willing and able to go on that adventure with them could have been a challenge, so I am really glad they gave me a call.

Lisa and Salvador’s Wedding on Oahu, Hawaii

Venue: Turtle Bay Resort
Location: Oahu, Hawaii
Flowers: North Shore Weddings and Flowers
Hair and Makeup: Sarah from Whik’d Hairstyling & Makeup
Officiant: Jon Kuahiwi Moniz from Ae ‘Ike Hawaiian Wedding Ceremony

I was introduced to Lisa and Salvador through a mutual photographer friend. I was delighted when they asked me to photograph their destination wedding at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Destination weddings are a lot of fun to photograph, but they require a very particular skill set. For starters, it is important for the photographer to be very self contained. That means having everything I need including backup equipment in my carry on bag to avoid being separated from my gear. I also need to have the computer equipment with me in order to back up images before getting home. Check out my blog posts on what I pack, and how I back up in the field.

Lisa and Salvador’s wedding was particular fun to photograph. We were graced with just a bit of rain that resulted in a beautiful rainbow just behind their ceremony cite. The folks at Turtle Bay said that happens fairly often on this part of the Hawaii. Despite packing light for a destination wedding, I still managed to bring enough tools to do some off camera lighting at the reception, which I think really helped add to the drama of such a beautiful venue.

Jeff and Michelle’s Breckenridge Colorado Engagement Session

Michelle and Jeff asked me to photograph their wedding next summer, so they came out to the mountains this past fall with me to photograph their engagement photos in Breckenridge, Colorado. They brought their rather shy dog with that they rescued a few weeks earlier, and I think the photos of the three of them turned out really well.
