The Climate Trust - Your path to a stable climate

Timothy Faust Photography purchases 15 metric tons of carbon credits to offset the use of transportation, shipping, and energy used in the day to day operation of the studio. We are one of the few photography companies in Colorado to be completely carbon neutral. Learn how The Climate Trust uses this money to subsidize carbon neutral and carbon negative energy.

Arbor Day Foundation

Photography, especially printing uses a lot of paper. Unfortunately it is still difficult to find high quality recycled photo paper. In an effort to offset the paper used in my work, starting in 2008, I will have 30 trees planted by the Arbor Day Foundation for the name of every couple whose wedding I photograph. The couple will receive a certificate from the foundation stating that 30 trees have been planted in their names.

Recycle Logo

Professional photography can take its toll on resources. Timothy Faust Photography does many different practices to help minimize the impact on our landfills:

  1. First, we use digital capture. This minimizes the amount of raw materials and chemicals needed. Consider the waste reduction of not using 500 rolls of film and developing chemicals annually.
  2. Next, we have a comprehensive recycling program for waste paper and plastics. More than half of all waste is currently recycled and we our constantly looking at ways to improve upon that.
  3. Have you noticed that your orders might come in a box that looks pretty tattered, or maybe it is a box for breakfast food or bicycle parts? We reuse packaging supplies as many times as possible before they are recycled. Once the box gets to you, please hang onto it and reuse it for the next thing you need to send, or you can mail it back to us, and we will be happy to reuse it.

The Community

Just as important to us as the environment is the local community. Despite being a small company, every year Timothy Faust Photography donates thousands of dollars worth of products, licensing, and time to local organizations whose missions encourage education, the arts, and the environment. Some of these organizations include:
