Faces of the Himalaya Show January 9th, 2009 at Altitude Gallery.
December 23rd, 2009I love the mountains and the outdoors, but my favorite thing about travelling (aside from eating exotic foods) is getting a chance to meet with people from different cultures around the world. Before leaving for Asia, I had planned on photographing landscapes, mountains, rivers, and ancient monasteries. However, after a few days of travelling through Tibet, I was really drawn to the people there.
- Pilgrims circling a prayer wheel along the Barkhor in Lhasa, Tibet
- A woman sitting in front of the Dalai Lama’s Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet
- A local monk and children from Sakya, Tibet are looking at photos I printed of them.
- Children stopping at a store on the way home from school in Dhulikhel, Nepal
- A woman sits in a doorway in Banepa, Nepal
- Me with two young monks I spent an afternoon with in Sakya, Tibet.
Asher’s Three Month Portraits
December 23rd, 2009If you have been following my blog, you know that I started photographing Asher only a few hours after he was born at the hospital. I will be meeting with him and his parents several times over the course of his first year to make images for a ‘Baby’s First Year’ album I will put together for his parents.
Asher’s First Day
August 28th, 2009I got a call from Alex a few hours after Asher was born, and he invited me to their hospital room to get Asher’s very first baby photos. This will be an ongoing project that started with Heather’s pregnancy photos and will follow Asher through the first year of this life.
Heather and Alex Part 1
August 21st, 2009These are the first images from a 12 month project involving Heather and Alex and their child. Rather than just do a one time portrait session, I’ll be documenting the first year of the child’s life starting with last last weeks of pregnancy and finishing on his first birthday.

Update – the baby’s name is Asher
